Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was born in 1902 in California. When he was four he was thrown to the ground by and earthquake and broke his nose, the scare would stay with him for the rest of his life. As a child Adams taught himself to play piano and ended up taking lessons, he played for a number of years and was thinking of making a profession of it but ultimately gave it up for photography. Adams was not successful in the many schools that his parents sent him to his dad and aunt tutored him at home and he was able to earn a diploma that was the same as graduating the 8th grade. One of his most iconic photos ever face of half dome was taken in 1927.  Adams shot his way into the history books as the most distinguished photographer in America if not the world
